The Free Patriotic Movement responded to the words of the head of the Lebanese Forces Party, Samir Geagea, regarding the electricity file, considering that the current supply still depends on the factories and networks that were completed during the era of the movement’s ministers, and accusing the Lebanese Forces of participating in obstructing the completion of the electricity plan and basic production projects.
He stressed that most of the money spent in the sector went to support fuel and cover the deficit, and not to build new factories, considering that if the plan had been fully implemented, Lebanon would not have reached the current crisis.
The movement also held the team currently in charge of the Ministry of Energy responsible for the deterioration of nutrition, criticizing the failure to fulfill promises to secure electricity within months, despite 18 months having passed since it took over the ministry.
He concluded his statement by saying that those who said that “they want to get electricity” turned out to be “they want to have people laughing at them.”
